The best part of The Great Wall

The Great Wall Mutianyu

Mutianyu is the least crowded area of the great wall. The 2.5 kilometer stretch of Wall allows you to walk for more than an hour as you explore 22 watchtowers and the valley on both sides of the Wall. I took an Uber here from my hotel, it took two hours and was only $30.00. If you don’t know what Uber is you defiantly should give it a try it’s way better than any taxi service. You can type in destination so you don’t have trouble with language barriers. It also allows you to follow the GPS route to your destination so you don’t have to worry about getting ripped off. The cars are always clean and the drivers are always really nice.

It was a perfect day with clear blue skies. General Admission into the park is 45RMB. I also got a ticket for the Cable Car One Way 60RMB and a Toboggan Return 80RMB which came to a grand total of  $30.00. there was about a two minute wait to get on the cable cars which swept you up into the sky overlooking the mountains and the toboggan slide. We walked around the wall for about an hour and then came the best part… the toboggan.

The toboggan is basically a 4 minute slide that takes you all the way back down the mountain! Yes its as fun as it sounds, you sit on a sled that has a controller to stop and go and try not to run into the person in front of you. I couldn’t think of a better way to end our day.
